The geology of this area is very interesting. Great views and overlooks.

Great place to spend a day hiking. Only problem is there is no easy way to walk around the area from Minnesota to Wisconsin. We just did the Ste boat tour through wild mountain. Bring snacks or picnic and enjoy a nice day at the falls. FYI there is no waterfall.

Visit the potholes! Wonderful hiking trails, located by a very cool old town (Taylors Falls) just 45 minutes from St. Paul. Very scenic views. Rent a canoe and take in the amazing St Croix River scenery. One of my favorite state parks!

I absolutely love Taylor Falls. I came here all the times as a kid to see the glacier pot holes and hike. It's still a great area for a short hike whether you're an adult or child.

The Taylor Falls Overlook has a very nice view of the St. Croix River from the Minnesota side. However, it is not accessible from the road. It is part of the trail hike between the visitor center in Taylors Falls and the State Park just down the road on St. Croix Trail. To access the overlook, you will have to hike from one end or the other up to this location to experience the view. It is a beautiful view and, honestly, the hike between the Visitor Center and the State Park is one of my favorite day trips, particularly in the fall. However, visitors should be aware that there's really no way to simply drive up to the overlook. In addition, the hike along the trail, while short, is fairly rugged in spots, so it is not really handicap accessible. I would recommend the Overlook as part of day trip on the trail between Taylors Falls and the State Park, but I would not recommend a trip just for the purposes of seeing this overlook on its own. If you are considering trying to make this trip, take a look at the reviews for the Interstate Park in Minnesota. It is truly a great day trip and a wonderful hike, but the Overlook is just one part of that trail and not a sight to see on it's own.
